EVIDENCE WORKSHOPS | 18 FEBRUARY 2021 | 17:15 – 18:15
PRINCIPAL ROSENDALE PRIMARY AND RESEARCH SCHOOL
In this workshop, Kate will support schools to understand how they can begin to use evidence to improve outcomes. She will look at the wealth of data that already exists about what works and look at how that can be applied to a classroom context. She will also encourage schools to seek other forms of data about their own school and use this data to decide on improvement priorities and how to measure success. This workshop will involve presentations and some interactive sessions culminating in schools having a short term implementation plan.
Kate Atkins has been teaching in the London Borough of Lambeth for over 25 years. She began her teaching career in Early Years, which is still an ongoing passion. Kate is Headteacher of Rosendale Primary School as well as CEO of the Great North Wood Education Trust, a Multi Academy Trust with a local secondary school. Kate led ‘ReflectED’, one of the first school-led research projects funded by the Education Endowment Foundation, as well as leading ‘Connecting Knowledge’, a London based research project which resulted in Rosendale being an Excellence Hub for lesson study. Rosendale is now a Research School supporting schools in London and beyond to use evidence-based practice in the classroom to improve outcomes for all children.
