PROFESSOR IN COMPUTING AT UNIVERSITAT POLITÈCNICA DE CATALUNYA
Artificial intelligence will profoundly transform education as we know it, revolutionising teaching methods, ways of learning or accessing knowledge and ways of training teachers. But what do we mean when we speak of artificial intelligence? Why now? And how does it work? This talk aims to bring this new technology to a non-technical audience, encouraging them to take an active role and inviting them to try to understand the progress made in artificial intelligence so that each of us may freely decide the limits that we want to put on their impact, which will surely be much greater than the Internet.
Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya UPC Barcelona Tech with 30 years of experience in teaching and research in high-performance computing, with relevant scientific publications and R&D projects in companies and institutions.
At the moment his research focuses on supercomputing applied to Artificial Intelligence in general and Deep Learning in particular. Since its inception, he has led a research group at the Barcelona Supercomputer Center. He is currently a Board Member of iThinkUPC company, and he acts as a trainer, mentor, and expert for various organizations and companies; In turn, he has also written several technical books, he gives lectures and he has collaborated with different mass media.
